Last year on Mother’s Day weekend, I was a participant in a facilitated
Pranayama Breathwork group, and had an experiential vision of being held
and fully supported from behind in the ancient “birthing” position by
Mother Mary herself. She was helping me to birth my gifts into the
world, my creativity; the work I do and the books I am writing, as my
babies… I feel like I received my calling that day: As a Coach to the
Soul, a Spiritual Midwife, helping people to birth their own essential
creativity, their inner calling, their Divinely inspired contribution to
the world — to courageously connect with, and share, their own true
passion.
I was being called to support people, especially women (but men too)
who, like me, either haven’t had human children at all, who want
children but don’t yet have them, whose children are gone, or who have
trauma around being a child and need a second childhood themselves….
As the song Hallelujah was playing softly in the background, I saw
glimmers of all my friends who had recently died at that time, much too
young, and knew that to connect with one’s own passion, essence, and
full expression of creative genius (in whatever form that takes) and put
it into the world IS a matter of life and death.
I share this today to honor YOU, the childless mothers, the motherless
children, and all of us who are ‘mothers’ of creation itself.
